Over the next year we will be rebuilding and re-invigorating the garden, animals and humans. After back-to-back years working the land, the Kittlesons are taking a garden season off. There will be lots of camping, playing in the rivers, snuggling new piglets and chicks and maybe even some sitting in the hammock. The over-wintered plants will be allowed to go to seed and the dirt will have a chance to rebuild its nutrients.
In December we removed all the garden beds, leveled the ground and had a giant bonfire on the winter solstice to set intentions to begin again. We have dropped some trees that were threatening to fall, dug new trenches, reset the irrigation lines and rebuilt the irrigation pump. Over the next months, we will rebuild garden beds and compost, compost, compost!
Throughout the growing season there will be the perennials that we will have in abundance if you're interested. Check in with us or the blog to view what's fresh. Right now we're knee-deep in Asparagus madness. Summertime will offer u-pick options for berries.
Thank you all for your love, support and patronage. Gardening and farming is in our hearts and souls and we'll be back.
Cheers!
